Chapter Benefits
Chapter benefits include:• A direct link to the IEA board of directors, including:
- The opportunity to provide the IEA board with input about Conference themes, speakers, events and locations that would appeal to their membership.
- The opportunity to provide the IEA board with input about the IEA web site, including information that their members would find most helpful/beneficial.
- The opportunity to provide the IEA board with input about benefits that make IEA membership desirable.
• A yearly rebate from the IEA for each Chapter member. • Your own Chapter web page(s) on the IEA web site.
• Listing of your Chapter events on the IEA web site calendar.
• The opportunity to network with other state chapters to share ideas for programs, membership recruitment, etc. and to share expertise.
• Use of the IEA name and logo for your Chapter’s materials.
• The opportunity to organize one Enneagram workshop per year with an Enneagram teacher who is a professional member of the IEA, without fee. (The Chapter is responsible for paying for the presenter’s travel and lodging and if the Chapter nets a profit on the event. It’s requested that 10% of any profits be donated to the IEA.)
• Membership and data base support. The IEA office maintains a list of members in your state or geographic area and every month provides you with an updated list of those members. In addition, the IEA sends out all membership reminder and renewal forms.
• Access to the IEA email list of all people in your geographic area who are not members of your Chapter.
• One half-price email blast per year to advertise a Chapter event nationally. Chapters may also use the IEA E-News to advertise upcoming events at no cost.
• Use of Survey Monkey, an online survey for polling Chapter members.
• Each State Chapter President (or one Chapter Board member) receives a 50% registration discount for IEA conferences.
• No need to file with the IRS for tax exempt status. Rather, your Chapter can participate in the IEA’s group tax exempt status, including their federal ID tax number. Benefits of this include:
- Simplified federal tax reporting. (You send your year-end financial report to the IEA and the IEA files all necessary tax papers.)
- The ability for your Chapter to accept tax-deductible contributions.
- Use of the IEA’s non-profit bulk mailing permit.
- Reduced rates from most banks because of your non-profit status.
- Sales tax exemption when supported by state law.
