Country Representatives

The IEA Board of Directors selects country representatives according to specific criteria. For example, the country representative must be well-respected and well-networked within that country, possess an in-depth knowledge of the Enneagram, operate in a collaborative manner with others within his or her country, demonstrate respect for a wide variety of Enneagram teachers, and speak English well enough to participate in country representative conference calls. The IEA Board of Directors will confer with numerous people within a particular country before determining who might best serve in this role.

The role of the country representatives includes:

    1. Helping to create the IEA Affiliate countrywide Enneagram Association (country representatives exist only until this Affiliate Association is formed)
    2. Acknowledging and fostering all Enneagram work in that country, making sure that all schools of thought within the Enneagram are listened to and respected
    3. Translating all IEA strategies into action in their countries
    4. Listening to local people’s needs concerning the Enneagram and expectations concerning the IEA and reporting this to the IEA Board
    5. Participating in quarterly conference calls in English together with IEA Board members responsible for international relationships
    6. Opportunity to write and update an article (in English) about the Enneagram in his/her country for the IEA website and Nine Points

The benefits for country representatives include:

    1. Public recognition as an IEA country representative, a job directly related to the IEA Board
    2. One free registration at IEA Annual Conferences and courses
    3. Free copy of the annual Conference Proceedings, if one is published
    4. Opportunity to write and update an article (in English) about the Enneagram in its country for the IEA website and 9 Points
