Many of us who have learned about the Enneagram have had the sense that it has had a profound impact on our lives, and that rightly applied, it could have a very positive effect on the development of the world in our times. This might lead us to wonder what about this system is so powerful? What elements of it produce real change? And, most importantly, what is the future of this profound system? The Enneagram draws on some of the most ancient wisdom about human nature while also being informed by modern psychology and the natural sciences. How can we draw on the best of those wisdom traditions while being open to innovation and new discovery?

Estamos en un momento excitante para hacerse miembro de la IEA, y en este art�culo quisiera explicar de manera m�s amplia lo que escrib� en la carta del Presidente sobre las nuevas iniciativas.

Actualmente, dos de las iniciativas, una marca editorial y un grupo de investigaci�n, son nuevas, y una, el programa de acreditaci�n, est� siendo actualizada para satisfacer las necesidades cambiantes de los miembros. Tamabi�n me gustar�a decir algunas palabras sobre los congresos de la IEA.

New IEA Initiatives & the Value of Membership

It's an exciting time to be a member of the IEA, and in this article I'd like to expand on what I wrote in the Letter from the President about our new initiatives.

Actually, two of the initiatives, a publishing imprint and a research task group, are new, and one, the accreditation program, is being updated to meet the evolving needs of the membership. I'd also like to say a few words about IEA conferences.

IEA Publications

Part of the IEA's mission is to make information about the Enneagram more widely available to the public. We have been doing that for years now through the international and regional conferences and though publications such as Nine Points Magazine and The Enneagram Journal. The changing nature of the publishing industry means that it is becoming more and more difficult for even popular authors to have Enneagram books published, and many authors have turned to self-publishing. In order to help ensure that good books on the Enneagram reach the audience they deserve, the IEA has decided to start a publishing imprint.
