Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in the IEA

The International Enneagram Association is a diverse, global organization dedicated to creating spaces for all to learn and connect through the constructive, ethical use of the Enneagram. We welcome and seek to create a safe and inclusive space for all – from those first encountering the Enneagram to seasoned Enneagram professionals. We come together from a variety of teaching lineages and traditions. We encounter and use the Enneagram in a wide variety of applications and settings. We share a desire to explore and use the Enneagram constructively as a powerful tool for developing self-awareness and individual growth, as well as to enhance our ability to have compassion for, understand, appreciate and connect with each other as fellow members of the human race.

Our work honors the broad spectrum of diversity, celebrating both differences and similarities. We recognize that we each bring our personality patterns and world view, as well as our particular lived experiences, to all of our interactions. We recognize that each individual is unique, and that our lived experiences are shaped by many significant factors. These factors include, among others: race, color, national origin, ethnicity, culture, language, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, family status, age, religion, creed, spiritual practices and beliefs (including their absence or denial), class, poverty or wealth, and the impacts of systemic biases including both systemic privilege and systemic oppression and abuse.

The International Enneagram Association does not discriminate in its hiring, membership, benefits or other forms of participation based on any of these innate or lived experience characteristics, nor does it tolerate discrimination or harassment based on such characteristics. We seek to create a diverse, inclusive, equitable, welcoming, and safe space for all to belong and fully participate.
