What is the IEA Accreditation Program’s approval process?

  • Accreditation applications are considered and evaluated by the IEA Accreditation Committee.  The Accreditation Committee consists of three to seven members or former members of the IEA Board of Directors, at least a majority of whom are Accredited Professionals.
  • AP and APD applications are considered by the Accreditation Committee on a rolling basis when all materials, including referral letters, are received and the IEA staff has confirmed that Professional Membership (and in the case of APD applications, the AP status) is current.
  • ATP and AES applications are considered monthly at a meeting of the Accreditation Committee after all materials are submitted and staff has confirmed that the AP status and Professional Membership of all necessary professionals is current.  ATP and AES applications will not be processed until all Enneagram faculty are current in their professional membership dues and AP accreditations.
  • To be approved, AP, APD, ATP and AES applications must receive the affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the Accreditation Committee. Applications for an AESD must be approved by 75% of the Committee and by an affirmative vote of the IEA Board of Directors.
  • Once your application has been accepted and your fee has been paid, you will receive a dated accreditation logo for your use during the duration of your accreditation period.

How long is the Accreditation Period?

IEA Accreditations are good for one year and must be renewed annually. See Renew Accreditation for information about renewable requirements and processes.
